语言不通很尴尬，如果用的翻译软件翻译得不对那就更尴尬了。近日，某公司上线了一项据说水平堪比专八的翻译技术，简单来说就是通过人工智能技术让机器翻译变得更智能，让翻译出来的句子更像人话。借此，作为材料+英语专业的小编将结合各类翻译软件，看看各个软件的表现。

先来个《材料科学基础》中的短语：Face centering  

有道的答案是：面对定心

百度的答案是：面部居中

Google的答案是：面对中心

微软的答案是：面部居中

小编的答案是：面心化

可以看出上述翻译均是直译，但答案都是不准确的。

再给个句子试试：Metallic materials are normally combinations of metallic elements. They have large numbers of nonlocalized electrons; that is, these electrons are not bound to particular.

这句话的难点在几个词：nonlocalized ; bound to particular。

可以看出四个软件都对第一句做了直译，nonlocalized一词只有百度的答案是可以接受的，所有软件均未能把particular后面省略的electron译出来，以致句子成分不完整，不能单独成句。

为了进一步测试对句子的分割能力，我决定摘出一句论文中的句子：Therefore, both the propagation of the disorder from the surface layer to the core region of the particles upon decreasing the size of the particles and the increase of the disorder towards amorphous state are still open questions.

额，这样写，你的老师可能会不太高兴......大概意思能出来，但是原句中的逻辑关系丝毫没有体现。小编给出的翻译：因此，随着粒子尺寸的减小及无序状态的增加，导致的从表层到核心区域粒子无序传播现象仍然是悬而未决的问题。
